What We Do

What We Do

Our Health Fairs

Our primary goal is to create all-encompassing health and wellness fairs within Tennessee communities. Our model is based on developing deep connections with each community we visit- ensuring that we meet the health needs of those particular residents. Each fair provides Tennesseans with free health screenings and health education to help them lead a healthier life. We are determined to create lasting connections between the local healthcare providers and residents.

Our Bipartisan Statewide Summits

Together with our partners we have hosted many bipartisan summits across the state of Tennessee to address our states healthcare needs. These summits include distinguished speakers, notable legislators, and expert panelists discussing how we can provide the best healthcare to the people of Tennessee.

West Tennessee Summit

Our bipartisan summit on community health in West Tennessee was held on December 5, 2018 in Jackson. In addition to community health organizations and leaders, we also hosted high school and college students through our new initiative Healthy Tennessee University. It was an exciting day full of productive discussion about partnership opportunities to make our state healthier! Special thanks to our sponsors: West Tennessee Healthcare, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, University of Tennessee at Martin, Tennessee Hospital Association, City of Jackson, and Jackson Chamber

Working Together to Find Solutions to the Opioid Crisis

On August 24th, 2018, Healthy Tennessee held a first of its kind bipartisan summit in Nashville to bring together stakeholders in healthcare with the mission of finding solutions to end the opioid crisis.

Our program included senatorial candidates Congressman Marsha Blackburn and former TN Governor Phil Bredesen, as well as gubernatorial candidates former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and businessman Bill Lee. Three panels of experts convened to speak on the challenges of fighting opioid abuse around Tennessee, fentanyl and counterfeit drugs, and public-private partnership cooperation.

We are grateful to our sponsors — the Partnership for Safe Medicines, Nektar, Acadia, and the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee Health Foundation — for making this incredible gathering of individuals possible.

Upper East Tennessee Health Care Summit

We were joined by the Surgeon General of the United States at the Upper East Tennessee Health Care Summit on March 7, 2018.

“…We are so grateful to each of you for the work you do towards the ambitious goal of improving health care in our state, and we believe that by improving collaboration on these projects within our communities, we can attain this goal for all Tennesseans…”

– Dr. Manny to summit participants

We are grateful to our sponsors — Ballad Health and Tennessee Hospital Association — for making this incredible gathering of individuals possible.
